CARE/ SAFETY
Security
We take the security and safety of our festival goers very seriously – it is a real priority.
Please help us by bringing as little as possible. We do not allow large bags (large backpacks, luggage bags etc) into the arena.
Please ensure you have printed off or have your tickets available on your phone before you reach the security entrance. If you cannot find your tickets please do email info@shhhclub.co.uk
Please be patient while we carry out our security checks and searches, which take place at the campsite gates, the arena entrance and may also happen at any time at any location onsite.
Our security staff are there for your safety – please cooperate with them as they work to keep us all safe and sound.
We work very closely with the Police and members of the security services to ensure our security procedures are up to date and we are following best practice. We put a lot of time and effort on briefing and training and run emergency exercises. Please help us by reporting anything that doesn’t look right to you and also please let us know if you spot an area where we can do better and we will get on it.
Food and Drinks
We have three fantastic food stalls available throughout the event – each will provide allergy menus, but if you would like to know more about what’s on offer please do email us on info@shhhclub.co.uk
Due to licensing laws we can’t allow alcohol to be brought in to, or out of the arena (a range of premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be on sale from our bars.)
Top tips for a happy festival
Look after yourself, don’t overdo it, and look out for others.
Remember there is more chance of catching infection in a field than at home so make sure you use the water point and hand sanitizer stations at the toilet blocks to wash your hands regularly
Please do not climb on any trees onsite. It is dangerous and may cause damage to the tree.
At dusk, cover up and bring insect repellent with you.
Illegal drugs are no more legal onsite than off.
Give any passing security or emergency vehicles plenty of space to pass and don’t ride on vehicles.
Serious sunstroke, sunburn, can be caused by the sun on unprotected skin - wear a high factor sun cream.
We will be in a field so please bring appropriate footwear.
The British weather is very unpredictable, so please check the weather conditions before you leave and dress appropriately.
Emergencies
In an emergency, please contact the nearest member of security or staff. There are medics at the festival who are fully equipped to deal with all situations.
Drugs Policy
Shhh Festival does not condone the use of drugs. Drugs enforcement laws are as applicable onsite as anywhere else in the UK. It is illegal to buy, sell or take drugs. All drugs are potentially dangerous, there are no harmless drugs. The only way to avoid risks is to not take drugs at all. This goes for new psychoactive substances (formerly known as “legal highs”) as well. But we want our festival goers to know above all else that you can come to us for help if you or your friends need it without fear of getting in trouble at any time. Always be honest with medics and welfare teams about what you have consumed so that they know how best to help you.
GREEN
We run a three-bin system at the festival, which means every recycling point in the campsites and main arena will be formed by 3 bins:
COMPOSTABLES
When you buy food from the traders, everything your food comes in is compostable so plates, cutlery and napkins can be placed in the compost bins along with the food scraps. Please make sure NO PLASTIC goes into the compost.
RECYCLABLES
Plastic bottles, aluminium cans, newspapers, magazines and clean and dry cardboard (no used greasy pizza boxes as these do not recycle).
NON RECYCLABLES
For anything else. There should be minimal left over that goes into General Waste.
When packing ready for the festival weekend, remember to pack wisely and only bring essential items, please do not bring any single use plastic (plastic bottles are allowed but please keep them to a minimum).
